Plain-English summary
We collect very little. If you sign up for the free chapter we hold your email address. If you buy, Lemon Squeezy handles the purchase and shares with us what we need to deliver the product and its updates. If you send us your story we hold your first name, email and the story itself, and we only publish it if you tick the box saying we can. Our analytics use no cookies and identify nobody. We never sell your data and we never send marketing without your consent. You can ask us what we hold, ask us to delete it or complain to the ICO at any time.
This site is operated by the business behind Build My AI Team (full company name and registered address to be published here before checkout opens). For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Contact for anything privacy-related: our contact form.
Build My AI Team is not affiliated with Anthropic. This policy covers our site and our product delivery, not your use of Claude, which is governed by Anthropic's own privacy terms.
a. Email sign-up (free Day Zero chapter and launch notifications). What: your email address. Why: to send you the free chapter and to let you know when checkout opens. Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us, and we will stop.
b. Purchases. What: when checkout is live, purchases will be processed by Lemon Squeezy, LLC as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your payment and billing details directly and acts as the seller of record. It shares with us the information we need to serve you: typically your name, email address, what you bought and your download activity. We never see or store your full payment card details. Why: to deliver the product, provide your download, send transactional emails (receipt-related messages, delivery emails and the update emails that are part of the product's 12-month update promise) and handle any guarantee or refund claim. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you. For record-keeping connected to tax and accounting, legal obligation. Update emails are part of what you bought, not marketing, so they do not need separate marketing consent, and we still make them easy to manage.
c. Story submissions (/story). What: your first name, email address and the story you write. Why: to read your story, reply if appropriate and, only if you tick the explicit consent box, feature your story on the site attributed by first name only. Legal basis: consent. You can withdraw consent at any time and we will remove a featured story promptly. Please do not include other people's personal details or sensitive information in a story.
d. Emails you send us. What: whatever you include, plus your email address. Why: to answer you and to keep a record of guarantee claims and support history. Legal basis: legitimate interests (running the business and keeping accurate records of customer interactions), or performance of a contract where the email concerns your purchase.
e. Analytics. We use privacy-focused, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible). These services set no cookies, use no persistent identifiers and give us aggregate numbers only, such as page views and referrers. We cannot identify you from them, and no personal data is collected, so no consent banner is needed for analytics.
We do not use advertising trackers, tracking pixels or social media pixels, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
We use a small number of service providers (processors) who handle data on our instructions:
We may also disclose data where the law requires it. We do not share data with anyone else.
Lemon Squeezy is a US company, and our form service may also be US-based. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on recognised safeguards: the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or the ICO-approved International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum otherwise. Plausible, if used, stores data in the EU, which benefits from a UK adequacy decision. In every case the transfer mechanism is set out in the provider's terms, and you can ask us for details.
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email our contact form. We respond within one month. We will never charge you for a first, reasonable request.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first and we will do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
This site and product are aimed at adults. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from under-18s. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Data is held with reputable providers using encryption in transit, access is limited to the people who need it and we keep the amount of personal data we hold deliberately small. No system is perfectly secure, but holding less is the best protection there is.
We will update this policy when our practices change, for example when checkout goes live or if we change providers. The "last updated" date at the top tells you the current version. Material changes will be flagged to the email list.
