Privacy

We collect very little, we never sell it, and we never send marketing without your consent. This note tells you what we hold and what you can do about it.

We are not affiliated with Anthropic. This note covers our site, our product and our sessions. Your own use of Claude is governed by Anthropic's terms and notices, not ours.

What we hold, and why

• If you sign up for the free chapter or launch news: your email address. We hold it because you asked us to, and you can withdraw that at any time from the link in any email.
• If you buy: your name, email, billing country, what you bought and your order record, so we can take payment, deliver it, keep delivering updates and handle any refund or guarantee claim. We hold it because we have a contract with you, and because tax law requires us to keep transaction records.
• If you send us a story or an email: what you write and your email address, so we can reply. A story is only ever published if you tick the box saying we may, and you can withdraw that.
• If your package includes Working Sessions: see the next section.

Payment is taken through Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly. We never see or store your full card number.

Our analytics set no advertising cookies and no cross-site identifiers, and give us aggregate counts only. We cannot identify you from them. We do not use tracking or social pixels and we do not profile you.

Your Working Sessions, if your package includes them

We record and transcribe your Working Sessions, and we hold the answers you send us beforehand, so that we can write your report and your files. Recording is required. Our basis is performing our contract with you rather than your consent.

That material is processed using Anthropic's Claude, under Anthropic's commercial terms, which involves a transfer outside the UK made under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. None of it is used to train an AI model.

We keep your recording for 30 days, and your transcript and your pre-session answers for 12 months. Your report and files are kept with your purchase record. The retention section below gives the reasons.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers, acting on our instructions: payment processing, website hosting and file storage, form handling, email delivery, calendar and video calls for sessions, and the AI processing described above. We do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, for any purpose.

Our payment processor is also responsible in its own right for fraud prevention and its own legal obligations. That part of what it does is covered by its own notice rather than this one.

We will disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Some providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where data leaves the UK we rely on a transfer mechanism UK law recognises: an adequacy decision, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. Email us and we will tell you which applies to which provider.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, and then only where the law or a limitation period requires.

• Working Session recordings: 30 days from the session. Once the transcript is made and your report and files are sent, the recording has done its job. Thirty days covers your cancellation period and a little beyond it.
• Transcripts and pre-session material: 12 months from the day we send your report and context files. Your second Working Session is available for that same twelve months, and the transcript is what lets it carry on from the first rather than start again. If we move your second session, we keep it until that session.
• Your report and context files: six years, kept with your purchase record.
• Purchase, delivery, consent and support records: six years. That is the limitation period for contract claims in England and Wales, and the period tax law requires for transaction records.
• Sign-up addresses: until you unsubscribe.
• Unpublished stories: deleted within twelve months.

None of it is used to train an AI model, and none of it is shared beyond the providers named above.

Security

Data is held with reputable providers using encryption in transit, access is limited to those who need it, and we keep the amount we hold deliberately small. Holding less is the best protection there is.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or stop our use of it, or hand it over in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time, and that does not affect anything done before you did.

Email hello@buildmyaiteam.com. We respond within one month and we will never charge for a first, reasonable request.

Complaints

Please tell us first and we will do our best to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, without contacting us first.

Children

This site and product are for adults. They are not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from under-18s. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will delete it.
